LightMaker Academy is a classical Christian homeschool co-op serving families in Wake Forest, North Carolina. We believe that education is not merely the transfer of information, but the cultivation of wisdom, virtue, and a love for truth.
Our approach combines the time-tested classical model—emphasizing grammar, logic, and rhetoric—with a distinctly Christian worldview. We recognize that all truth is God's truth, and we seek to help students discover how every subject points to the Creator.
Through rich literature, thoughtful discussion, hands-on learning, and community engagement, we partner with families to develop students who think critically, communicate clearly, and live purposefully in light of their faith.
We educate the whole person—mind, heart, and soul. Academic rigor is essential, but so is character formation, spiritual development, and the cultivation of wonder and delight in God's creation.
Students engage with the great books and great ideas that have shaped Western civilization. We read primary sources, ask hard questions, and learn to think deeply about what is true, good, and beautiful.
Following the classical tradition, we structure learning around the developmental stages of the Trivium: Grammar (knowledge foundation), Logic (critical thinking), and Rhetoric (elegant expression and persuasion).
Scripture is not merely one subject among many—it is the lens through which we understand all subjects. We help students see how mathematics displays God's order, how history reveals His sovereignty, and how literature reflects His story.
In a world of constant change and information overload, the ancient methods of classical education offer something timeless: wisdom. Here's why this approach is more relevant than ever for forming resilient, thoughtful disciples.
Our children live in a world of instant gratification and endless distraction. How do we recover the lost art of wonder? It starts with slowing down, asking better questions, and learning to see God's fingerprints everywhere.
